Worcestershire manufacturing firm put to the test by the UK’s leading luxury mobile toilet pro

Worcestershire manufacturing firm, Dortrend International has joined forces with one of the UK’s largest luxury mobile toilet providers in a bid to put their anti-bacterial coating, TouchClean to the ultimate test.

The Stourport on Severn firm has launched an experiment with mobile toilet giant, Andyloos, who specialise in providing luxury, state of the art, mobile toilet facilities to UK festivals, shows and sporting events, to test its anti-bacterial coating product TouchClean.

It will see Dortrend International coat one of its ‘Event’ ranges of luxury mobile toilets with its anti-bacterial coating TouchClean, which fights MRSA, SARS c difficile, e-coli and Swine Flu, in a bid to test its product in a new sector – mobile toilets.

As part of the pilot, Dortrend International will be focusing on monitoring how effective it is at combating odour and instigating self cleaning when applied to the mobile toilet.

Experts will also be monitoring the overall effect of the anti-bacterial coating when sprayed on the clean mobile toilet, against the effects after heavy use from the general public - and overall measurement of the scientific technology of the anti-bacterial product on this new surface.

During the experiment they will also be placing an untreated mobile toilet unit next to the fully anti-bacterial coated unit to compare the overall appearance and odour.

If successful, this could lead to TouchClean being introduced for the first time in the mobile toilet industry to fight odours and improve self cleaning.

It will take four months for the experiment and results to be completed at the companies Worcestershire headquarters.

Philip Dean, Managing Director, Dortrend International, said: “We are very excited to be launching this experiment with Andyloos. It is an exciting time for TouchClean as we test its technology and introduce its scientific benefits in new sectors.

“Before entering any new sector it is crucial to conduct an internal experiment and professional testing to ensure this is a significant step forward, for both the sector and the product.

“If successful, this could save the mobile toilet industry significant labour hours cleaning units and reduce odours when in use during events.

“We look forward to working with Andyloos throughout our experiment as our chosen partner in the mobile toilet sector”.

The anti-bacterial specialists already professionally spray Touchclean on surfaces, walls and equipment in the UK healthcare, education and food sectors, to protect organisations in the fight against UK bacterial infections, odour and hygiene problems.

Andy Loos accepted the invitation to put TouchClean to the ultimate test in a bid to discover whether this will help them reduce odour and improve cleaning processes.

Richard Philpot, Chairman of Andyloos, said: “As one of the UK’s leading providers of mobile toilets we are very excited to be involved with this experiment.

“TouchClean is an exciting development and we are looking forward to discovering the results once the experiment has been completed and evaluated.

“If TouchClean anti bacterial coating is successful, it is not only an exciting development for us as one of the main UK providers of mobile toilets, but also for our clients and the general public, who both rely on our mobile toilet facilities, when attending key events throughout the calendar year.”

Andyloos is one of the UK’s largest providers of luxury mobile toilets including luxury ranges for special occasions and event ranges for festivals and shows. It also specialises in mobile luxury showers.

TouchClean in brief:

TouchClean is an anti bacterial coating made from an anatase titanium dioxide based nano technology photocatalyst which destroys bacteria, spores, viruses, mould, odours and pollutants.

It contains Ti02 in nano powder form which has photocataytic properties. It is UV light which causes excitation of the Ti02 allowing water (vapour) to break down to form hydroxyl radicals and free oxygen radicals. This combination breaks down any organic material that lands on surfaces into carbon dioxide and water.

TouchClean can help in preventing the spread or arrival of the H1N1 Swine Flu virus for 12 months. It also protects against other deadly viruses MRSA, SARS, c difficile and e.coli for ten-years.

TouchClean Anti-bacterial Coating

TouchClean is an ‘anti-bacterial coating’ developed for and, distributed and professionally applied by Dortrend International.

Dortrend International is the only and exclusive distributor of TouchClean in the UK.

TouchClean is an anatase titanium dioxide based nano technology photocatalyst which destroys bacteria, spores, viruses, mould, odours and pollutants.

Originally developed for Dortrend as a coating for door furniture, it is now available in new coatings specifically formulars for application to walls, doors, equipment and clothing, making it an ideal component of general anti-bacterial programmes in hospitals, care homes, detention centres and within education establishments.

The coating is also applicable where people congregate, such as buses, trains, nightclubs, cinemas, taxis, canteens and restaurants.

It contains Ti02 in nano powder form which has photocatalytic properties. UV light causes excitation of the Ti02 and water (vapour) is broken down to form hydroxyl radicals and free oxygen radicals. These are a powerful combination and break down any passing organic material into carbon dioxide and water.

TouchClean can be sprayed onto most existing surfaces such as walls, doors, soft furnishings and equipment.

The organics that are destroyed by the TouchClean technology help prevent the spread or start of MRSA, SARS, c difficile and e.coli. It can also help in the prevention and current fight against Swine Flu.

TouchClean coating can last for ten-years.
